How To Buy
We ship worldwide from Tokyo, Japan. Before you order, please read the two points below. Both are different from how most online shops work.
Two things are decided after you order
1. Shipping cost
The shipping fee shown in your cart is ¥5,500, but this is a provisional amount.
We ship with EMS (Japan Post). After you order, we pack and weigh your parcel, calculate the actual cost from the EMS rate for your country, and email you.
If the actual cost is higher, we ask you to pay the difference. If it is lower, we refund it.
2. Price of large hides
Large hides — whole hides, sides, shoulders and so on — are priced by area. Every hide is a different size, so the price on the product page is only an estimate.
After you order, our staff selects one hide from stock and measures it. The final price is calculated from that measurement, and we email you the confirmed amount.
The final price can be higher or lower than the estimate.
Cut leather (A4, A3, half sizes, belt straps, swatches) has a fixed price. This does not apply to those.
How leather is priced
Prices for large hides are based on ds (also written dm2), a unit of area used in the leather trade.

Each product page shows the ds price (ds単価) and the range of area for that hide (大きさ). The estimate is the ds price multiplied by the average area.
Example — a hide priced at ¥198 per ds, average area 150 ds
¥198 × 150 ds = ¥29,700 (estimate)
¥198 × 140 ds = ¥27,720 (if the hide is smaller)
¥198 × 165 ds = ¥32,670 (if the hide is larger)
If you need a hide within a certain size, please write it in the order notes, for example "150 ds or smaller". We will choose the closest one in stock, or contact you if we cannot.

- Wait for our email with the confirmed price and shipping cost

Please use a credit card, not a debit card
For large hides, we charge an estimated amount first and adjust it later. A debit card takes the money from your account straight away and often cannot handle this adjustment. Refunds also take a long time.
Most problems we see with overseas orders come from debit cards.
Some cards issued outside Japan may be declined. If your payment does not go through, please contact us and we will find another way.
If we cannot adjust the charge to the final amount, we cancel the payment and send you a new payment link by email.
Prices include Japanese consumption tax. We do not remove the tax for overseas orders.
Shipping and customs
We ship with EMS (Japan Post) and provide a tracking number. You can check EMS rates on the Japan Post website.
Import duties, local taxes and customs clearance fees are your responsibility. These are not included in the price or the shipping fee. Please check the rules in your country before ordering.
Bulk discount
If you buy several large hides, the price per ds goes down.

Amounts are before tax. You can mix different types and colours. Cut leather, outlet leather and split leather are not included.
The discount is applied by our staff after you order, and is included in the confirmed price we email you.
Skiving service
We can thin leather to the thickness you need.

You can specify the finished thickness in 0.1 mm steps. The difference between the original and finished thickness must be 0.2 mm or more. For example, a 2.0 mm hide can be skived to 1.8 mm, but not to 1.9 mm.
Add the skiving service to your cart along with the leather, and write your requested thickness in the order notes. Skiving takes about one week before shipping.
About natural leather
Our leather is natural material. Each hide has its own character.

We cannot accept returns or exchanges for these characteristics. They are part of what natural leather is.
Colour also varies between production lots. A hide you buy now may look slightly different from one you bought before.
If you want to check colour and texture first, we sell swatches, pieces cut from the actual leather we stock.
Returns
Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. We accept returns only if the product is faulty. We cannot accept returns for the natural characteristics listed above, or for leather that has been skived.
Return shipping is paid by the customer unless the product is faulty.
